A huge thank you to our donors!
We are very grateful to the many dedicated individuals who have contributed as faculty or organizers to the events that led to our Association: the Aboriginal Editors Circle and the Indigenous Editors Circle. These gatherings have been the result of generations of hard work on behalf of Indigenous storytellers and we are honoured to continue this legacy.
We would also like to thank our partners Simon Fraser University (especially the Publishing department) and the Association of Canadian Publishers. Your ongoing support and committed substantive support in the form of many hours of volunteer time is truly appreciated.
A number of individual volunteers who are unaffiliated are also vital to our work. Thank you for the love and support you give. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us.
GoFundMe and other donors
We are so grateful to all of the individuals and organizations who have generously donated to the IEA. These donations so far have allowed us to hold our February 2020 Strategic Planning Gathering, which took place just before COVID-19 made such gatherings impossible and allowed us to take crucial, decisive steps forward; cover fees for important subscriptions and services to keep our project running smoothly, such as web hosting fees and financial services; and provide fair honoraria to support our other programming, such as an upcoming series of webinars.
We extend our gratitude to the following organizations:
(If you are an individual who donated on behalf of an organization but don’t see the organization’s name listed here, please contact us and we will add it!)
IEA gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Access Copyright Foundation's Event Grant program, the City of Vancouver's Cultural Learning and Sharing program, and Simon Fraser University's Community Engagement Initiative. Thank you for supporting our activities!
About the Association
The Indigenous Editors Association is a membership organization that was formed by Indigenous editors and publishing professionals in lands claimed by Canada as a mutual support network. We are here to carry out the vision of our early organizers and to create professional development and networking opportunities.
