After 20 years as a professor and academic leader, I stepped away from my academic appointments to form an independent education consulting group, Two Feathers Consulting, LLC. In this role, I aim to more directly engage and serve individuals, communities, schools, and organizations. Services provided include Editing, Proofreading, Writing Support, Proposal Development, Meeting and Group Facilitation, Public Speaking, Professional Development (PK-16), and Conflict Mediation.

My academic centers on Indigenous education, the education of culturally and linguistically diverse students with special educational needs, and the moral and ethical dimensions of school leadership. I have published widely in such journals as Educational Administration Quarterly, Harvard Educational Review, The Journal of Special Education Leadership, International Studies in Educational Administration, Values and Ethics in Educational Administration, Tribal College Journal of American Indian Higher Education, Rural Special Education Quarterly, and the Journal of Disability Policy Studies.

I am the editor of Oxford Bibliographies in Education (Online), outgoing Associate Editor of AERA Open and Educational Administration Quarterly, and a member of the editorial boards of the Journal of American Indian Education, Tribal College and University Research Journal, and The Rural Educator.

Past honors and awards include Fulbright Senior Scholar to Aotearoa (New Zealand), Ford Foundation Postdoctoral Scholar with the Civil Rights Project/Proyecto Derechos Civiles at UCLA, research fellow with the American Indian/Alaska Native Head Start Research Center at the University of Colorado Denver, and a William C. Friday Fellow for Human Relations.

When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, collecting vintage wares, thrifting, and gardening.
