A member of the 2SLGBTQ+ and disability communities, Katherine Witzig (she/they) is a reconnecting relative of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Katherine currently works for the Oklahoma Department of Libraries as a Programs & Partnerships Officer. They participate in national organizations like the American Library Association (ALA), the American Indian Library Association (AILA), and the Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums (ATALM), as well as serving locally as the Chair of the Oklahoma Library Association's Committee for Tribal Libraries, Archives, and Museums for the Oklahoma Library Associaton (OLA). Additionally, they co-chaired the Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC)'s Task Group for Metadata Related to Indigenous Peoples of the Americas. Katherine graduated in May 2024 from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Master's degree in library science.
