I'm a copyeditor and proofreader with twenty years of experience and a master's degree in publishing from Simon Fraser University. Please visit my website, banoong.ca, to get in touch, see examples of my work, and read testimonials from my wonderful clients.

In books, I specialize in scholarly nonfiction, literary fiction, and autobiography/memoir. I also edit online content and digital projects. I enjoy working with a number of university and trade presses in Canada and the US, as well as academic and literary journals. I'm an expert in Chicago style and comfortable with APA, MLA, Bluebook, and a diversity of house styles.

I am also known for my work with Indigenous authors and subjects. Recently, I was honoured to copyedit _Who We Are: Four Questions for a Life and a Nation_ by The Hon. Murray Sinclair CC, Mazina Giizhik; and to contribute an essay to Gregory Younging's _Elements of Indigenous Style_ (2nd ed., edited by Warren Cariou et al.).

I am Iñupiaq (Alaskan Native) on my mother's side and settler on my father's. I was born and raised as an uninvited guest in the unceded territories of First Nations in BC. Today I live in beautiful unceded Stz'uminus territory on Vancouver Island.

Please note that I don't provide sensitivity reads.
